Top work Jonny. You manage to take any pictures of the various jobs and tweaks? Would be nice get them up as a build / progress thread 8)

P.S. You are seriously missing out having her tucked away for that amount of time

summer will be here soon jonny, out & about in the sunshine with all your mods
Are you still considering a 6pot engine transplant when you've finished doing all the other stuff? :driving:
regards

Got to admire your work JE.

Look forward to the pictures with the BBK and M bonnet fitted.

you never know, you might be happy with the standard 230ish hp the 3.0litre puts out-it would give a noticable increase in mumbo over the 2.0 :o
Would save all that faffing about & huge expense of a supercharger as well :fuelfire:

Mate if i had a "Build thread" the forum moderators would need another server just for me lol
Still probably take up less space than all the individual threads and the three dozen 'shall I replace the engine threads' as everyone would only have to make their comments once rather than repeating them every time you start a new thread on the subject...

Thought I'd get that one in before Adamski said it... :P

Welldone Perry, can always really on you or Adamski as aquazi is not on here much anymore so just the two of you left now
Cheers Jonny

You know that, in general terms, we support your modding, even if we're amazed at the amount of money you seem willing to throw at an old car, but if, on occasion, people didn't question your sanity over some of the changes you'd think something was wrong...

Will take some pics when i give her a breather and yes i know im missing out but its that half cup full or empty way of thinging......tucked away she remains mint, clean and very low millage or not tucked away means i can enjoy her but with all the positive points from being tucked up gone. :headbang:
Never mind heay

Love driving mine everyday but when it's covered in mud and filth, it makes me wish I had a winter car and the z could be sparkling in the garage. New kitchen stopped those plans but hoping for next winter. Your constantly improving your Z Johnny, there can't be many standard parts left, maybe you could affectionately rename your car "triggers broom".

Lol the "triggers broom" tag has already been applied buy the forum

I think this may be the post you're thinking of...

The Car of Essex, also known as JE's paradox, is a philosophical conundrum that addresses the question of whether an object which has had all its component parts replaced remains fundamentally the same object. The paradox was most notably recorded in the late 1st century by Plutarch in the Life of Theseus. Plutarch raised the question of whether a ship which is restored by replacing all its wooden parts, remains the same ship.

Prior to Plutarch's writings, the paradox had originally been discussed by philosophers such as Heraclitus, Socrates and Plato and, more recently, by Hobbes, Locke and SRHutch. This conundrum is seen as giving insight into the individual philosophers mode of thought with some saying "it remains the same", and some saying, "it is no longer the same". There are several variants in common usage, 'Grandfather's Axe' is common in the USA, while in the UK 'Trigger's Broom' has recently been superceded and 'Jonny's Zed' has become ubiquitous.

While the Zed has been laid up for winter from November and until April/May it was a great oppotunity to do a lot of odd jobs that were anoying my OCD or wanted to do which i was able due to not bein used as a daily, so ive done the following work. :D

1. Replaced old angel eyes with brighter ones and new LED side lights plus one ring was half dead.
2. Hand Polished the headlight lenses to crystal clarity.
3. Replaced the drivers side window switch from Bmminiparts as had a small mark on it.
4. Had slow puncture repaired.
5. Fitted MFSW controls from BMminiparts
6. Installed DICE.
7. Repainted the needles and dail surrounds in the binicle to a darker red rather then the bright red i had before.
8. Resoldered a new rear light connector plug as old one was corroded due to water and was twitchy to say the least.
9. Fitted new OEM cup holders to both sides from E-bay
10. Deep cleaned front of car when bumper was removed.
11. Replaced small trim panel from BMminiparts thats under the handbreak that had a few minor marks.
12. Deep cleaned engine bay.
13. Installed a clear 3rd break light from BMminiparts

Its clear that my car is virtually been rebuilt lol and not much will remain in the summer that was original so much infact ive built a second Z4 from the spare parts
And In 2-3 weeks im getting the D2 BBK fitted cant wait.

( pics when i can as shes tucked away now and forgot to take some  )

errmmmm ... obviously no girl friend then ? or you would be down B&Q purchasing raw plugs to put shelves up like the rest of us ?? :D
