Not many here will agree with me but I am a fan on the M-Sport suspension...it is a hard right but I am used to driving a car on Coilovers so this suspension setup seems fairly comfortable to me!

Great colour too...what interior colour did you go for ?

Missed this - its Walnut Leather with wood trim. This was one of the hardest choices, I will be first to admit its more 'grown up' and less sporty but I think it looks awesome with the white exterior.

Looks good Supersebbo, you won't be sorry once you actually get it. I thought of getting a Zed with the deleted M suspension, but the model I eventually got was with and had 19's RFT. I'm quite pleasantly surprised by the ride, as Maniac mentioned, you only really feel a hard ride over manholes and the bigger potholes.
One thing that I wish I did get with the car is lumbar support though, had real issues with getting comfortable and actually my lower back got pretty sore after driving it the first few times, bear in mind i'm 29. My mates got 19's RFT in his 330 with M suspension and lumbar (maybe not fully comparable) and the ride feels much better, the lumbar support almost absorbs some of the shock when you hit those holes. Maybe someone with a zed with lumbar support can vouch for it.

Agree with the above - I love the M-Sport suspension on mine. It certainly isn't as hard as my last car (a '57 Mini Cooper S) or the car I had before that (Honda S2000).

Interesting because I haven't driven an M-Sport test drive, they only had an non M-sport Auto and I was more interested in testing the auto gearbox than the ride, so the only comparison I have is the 'sport' suspension on my sister's Mini - which combined with the RFTs on that I find incredibly harsh, and they are only 18" rims. But you say that it's more forgiving than the Mini??

Does anyone know what the ground clearance is on the M-Sport version? I have to bounce over 10 speed bumps on my way to and from work every day.

Definitely more forgiving than the Mini - I thought that rode terribly. Mine had 18" rims on it as well too.

My Z has the M-Sport and the 326 19" alloys on with the RFT's - I really don't think the ride is too bad at all.

Not had any problems with mine after 2k. Occasional rear deck rattle after putting roof up but then settles down. Average MPG currently pretty rubbish according to the onboard computer but that is due to massive amounts of city driving at the moment and the auto I guess.

Did you go for the extended leather ? That colour combo is very very nice

I didn't go for extended, it's nice but it was just a bit too pricey to justify (over £1000) and looking at the resale value, it's not something that even gets mentioned on a lot of the used Z4 ads, so I can't see it keeping much if any of that for resale value. I'm very pragmatic about this kind of stuff!

I think you should just spec your car to suit your own taste and pocket.
When it eventually comes to selling there are very few add ons that influence the sale price.

Nice colour combo, enjoy I know you will
Good choice on the M sport suspension, it's not too bad at all......just don't drive over any cats eyes and avoid potholes at all costs!!

supersebbo - have you seen the Walnut leather in the flesh?

SJ

I have not - I bought it based on this image alone! http://www.bmw.co.uk/dam/bmw/common/newvehicles/z-series/Roadster/2012/gallery/09-1600x1200-bmw-e89.jpg.download.1356094265837.jpg

Re the leather, to quote Spike Milligan " Cows are brown" (I think it was Spike)

I think he meant brown is the natural colour of leather! :D

Here are some of my walnut pics for you.

Looks awesome :) Works fantastic with the blue.

I'm still nervous about it, but out of all the standard leather colours I like this combination the best - I'll definitely post some pics when it arrives!

I was too. I wanted black leather but my wife was having none of it. She convinced me to get the walnut and I have no regrets. When you see it in the flesh you'll like it. The wood trim is the best for walnut too - our dealer sorted/recommended that.

I was worried because if you search for second hand, not many have the walnut. But lately a few people on the forum have gone for it.

Walnut looks great. I have the pure white and after 3 years of cleaning and worrying.. I'll be going black leather on the next car! It doesn't look as good but by god its easier to look after than coloured leather.

White leather was on my wish list when I bought my car - I was talked out of it by the saleman at BMW Park Lane. I have to admit being a little suspicious of his motive as he had a car with all on the list except the white leather. Now I think a large slice of humble pie is in order

All credit to the man
