Hello, I joined last week. This next week I will take delivery of a 2004 one owner Z4. I have researched several concerns and items related to the Z4. First concern was a lack of a manual dipstick, having had other high performance sports cars this really concerned me. I did follow up on the feature of it having an "electronic dipstick" feeling better about that idea combined with seeing the 3.0 carries almost 9 quart of oil. My future concerns pertains to oil sae ratings and living in the dessert (Las Vegas) I use Royal Purple 5-40 wt in my Dart, it has performed flawlessly... good choice for a 2004 Z4, with 40k? I saw no real recommendations as to brands, running a synthetic oil is a no brainer. Just wanted to open up a post and join up and share some concerns/thoughts. I have always been a hands on as far as minor servicing and tune ups.
