Jingles White Z progress thread!! (PICTURE HEAVY)

having replaced all 4 wheel arch liners, the drivers side front was damaged when installed (but was MUCH better condition that the original so fitted it anyway for the time being) managed to source a undamaged replacement so now all 4 corners are perfect:

both front lower plastic corners were damaged, finally managed to get some replacements at a sensible price. fitted new corners and also refitted all the brake duct brackets etc to stiffen everything up, and modified the lower corners so they dont foul the bottom rear of the bumper fangs and every thing sits perfect now and nothing fouls anything.

old corners off, and new corners ready to go on:

new corners fitted and modified ready for bumper to sit true:

next up was a mod i have been looking forward to for a while, was a bit apprehensive as there has been a bit of bother regarding Quad conversions lately so after plenty of research and a recommendation from forum member ESP i bit the bullet and booked my car in at EMP Performance based in St Albans http://www.empperformance.com/

very friendly and nice people all round and the workmanship is amazing (i followed there fitters on instagram to get an idea for there work.. https://instagram.com/mad_dp/ )

not got many pictures yet but heres 1 i took and 1 from there instagram account where u can see everything..

Love that quad!

Any more info on the usb connection from the centre mirror? I haven't a clue where to start on that one but I have a camera I want to wire in like that.
Did you solder the wires? Which wires etc.

Cheers :D

Right Jingle, you gotta stop posting all this on here!!!!!

It just makes me want to spend money...:D

Really like the Quad,

Is it a Cat back system?

Do you mind disclosing how much it cost?

Been thinking about an exhaust for a while but finding a good company to do it seems to be the issue.

Quad exhaust looks good!

Happy with how it sounds?

yes mate defo, it was already pretty loud and plenty of crackles and pops as was already non standard (previous owner already installed a custom set up) but now its even louder and sounds much more racecar haha, feels slightly different as i was used to sound coming all from my rear left, now its both sides so sounds different but in a good way. will try get a video at the weekend to upload, cant recommend EMP Performance enough as the work is amazing!

i love the quad

and all the info is in the link below, it really is easy mate, you only need to "connect" 1 wire as the negative is just screwed in to earth it so the positive is the only 1 that needs to be connected in a proper way. i just crimped an eyelet to the negative and screwed it in, and then used a scotch block thingy to attach the positive to the ignition live purple and white wire and then just feed the cable through...... honestly its so easy once u start and see whats what :D

http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73905 <--- all info from here courtesy of Number5  (have a quick read through and all what i said above will make perfect sense)

p.s what connector do you need, i will happily send you the wrong 1 i ordered 1st for free  , its a MINI USB (i needed MICRO USB so had to order a new 1)

not a problem mate, i trusted the recommendation from forum member ESP and we swapped a fair few inboxes for peace of mind before i booked in, the company is called EMP Performance ( http://www.empperformance.com/ ) based in St Albans. I followed there fitters on instagram for a month or so before so u can constantly see his work as they update it daily on what they are working on (really handy as u can see the quality of there work, plus feedback from real customers etc)

https://instagram.com/mad_dp/ <-- see his work here, its amazing

price was £550 which isnt too bad at all considering the work they done, i just dropped car off, chose which tips i wanted and had a quick chat about a few things like how far out/in tip style, how loud etc then went into London for the day and came and collected it later :D

and thanks for the nice comments and feed back guys and gals

not sure what to concentrate on next as i like to do it in stages, just finished off the rear stage so im thinking either suspension or wheels next.... then maybe a hardtop as will look awesome in white!! what u lot think should be the next stage???
ideas below :driving:

Yup, I know exactly what you mean. Although I feel it's not a circle it's a never ending spiral of Z4 ownership.

On that note I'm collecting my clear 3rd brake light from Sopers lincoln tomorrow.

That seems very reasonable, did that included everything - the new bumper trim moulding to house the quad, matching the colour, VAT etc?
Also they did all the work in one day? How many hours?

Edit - I just read the whole thread and realised that you had already added the M rear bumper prior to the quad exhaust fitting, the cost of the quad conversion now makes more sense.

Sorry to digress your thread Jingle..........Ref the wear on the roof Jimbo, did you manage to get it sorted?

It never bothered me that much as roof was down more than up. :D
When I sold the car this was reflected in the price resulting in a sale that was probably £600-£800 less than I would of asked if the roof was perfect.
