Jimmy Savile

Just don't see the point raking it all up, the guys dead and seems strange all these people speaking out now, genuine and publicity seekers. I imagine people turned a blind eye for a reason, i.e. he was raking in millions for good causes.

Does feel odd that someone who did so much good did so much evil.

Leave the guy alone I say and let him rest in peace or in hell.

Tim.

Has it occurred to anyone that back in the days when he was doing it, it was still an era of women being 'seen and not heard'.

Also doesn't it make Even more sense that one individual wouldn't come out and make an accusations because who would believe her the jimmy saville who 'fixes it' for children of all shapes and sizes and raises millions for charity would have tried to slip one up her?

However when 1 accusation goes public then all the victims feel empowered because they know now that they're not alone and there story will be heard.

Why now? Well would you want to dredge up memories of jimmy saville dangling his wangle in your face after you've spent years getting over the trauma? No but you would if the time was right because one if the victims has opened the doors anyway.

Alleged my bollocks (which if they were 17 years younger savilles ghost would be salivating over).

Take a look at the Have I got news for you transcript of when he was on......it was stuff that was cut with Paul Merton and Ian hislop who clearly knew what he was all about ripping him to shreds.

My tuppence worth.

His saintly image is shattered, he is six foot under, mission accomplished, lets go home and get pissed.

I've never forgiven Jimmy Saville after he fixed it for me to meet Gary Glitter backstage.

Sorry, thought that was hilarious.

On a serious note - think this whole business is a complete waste of time and effort. Nothing to be achieved by it now.

The sad thing is a lot of people will now talk because the papers will publish it and pay lots of money for stories that will sell

*just saying*

Not sure what to think of all this. The man is dead.... can't stand trial
+1 I do agree to much extent.

the guys dead, i assume he did it but whats the point in convicting a dead man

It's not about convicting him though, it's also about all the others who knew something, and allowed it to go on,..... and to make sure that people like this wont get that opportunity again, the police who put it to one side, and the press who withdrew the stories because of losing millions for the charities.
There are many who should be held to account.

Has his estate been split yet!?

That could be the reason.
What difference would it make? The person is accused , tried and either convicted or not, not the estate. You can't try anyone after they're dead.

what a creep http://soundcloud.com/musiclibraryfinland < this was a link someone posted on the youtube video documentary there is no doubt at all 'saville's travels'

Jim , can you fix it for me to go on holiday with a girl in my class ? .........Jeremy Forrest 30

I'm ashamed to admit it but I occasionally pick up a Daily Wail purely for the puzzle section. Flicking through the crap stories within today's, they're now running a full page story that some women wants her 5 minutes of fame because John Peel got her pregnant at 15. Nothing like jumping on a bandwagon. She seemed to manage not to blurt it to the press for 40+ years so why now?

Money, plain and simple. You can argue that 30 years ago children were told not to make up stories and things were perhaps hushed up. Well these people are all adults now have had at least the last 10 years to come forward. In my opinion it's all about getting a payout from someone, maybe the BBC, maybe some hospital trust.

Can I just say that Jimmy never fiddled with me!

As most, I find the public lynching quite distasteful. I don't get why the 'victims' have waited till now. I can get the whole 'power figure' argument but not in the last 10 years of his life as since the Louis documentary, he's been a figure who was mocked. It's all about the money.

Criminal Compensation Board? Would /could that apply in these cases as there cant be a trial or conviction

Wouldn't be surprised if a clever lawyer managed to get compensation from the BBC for knowing that abuse was going on when the BBC owed a duty of care
