I was planning organise a day out this Summer but after popping into the museum today for details on opening hours I've sadly found its closing on the 31st May for major renovations and extension! It will be April next year before it reopens!

So,I know it's along way off till May next year but I'm sure a few folk will be keen to visit the museum once it reopens its doors! Apparently there's going plenty more to see on your visit! :driving: Plus if I don't get it booked now Craig 3.2 will have next year fully booked out with runs before I get a chance! :poke:

Starting point will be somewhere just south of Edinburgh, sensible meeting time of around 9:30am. From there I've got a nice little route planned on roads I've be trying out over the last few months.
Lunch in Eyemouth with a bit time to have a relaxed wander around the Harbour and gift shops before heading to the Museum in Duns for mid afternoon.
After the museum visit (approx 1hr) I've another good route back North towards Edinburgh finishing around 4:15pm.

Hi Richie
PLEEEASE put me down for this ! I was in Duns last April the day before the Galloway run but any excuse to go again, especially after the museum's been extended  Jim Clark; my only sporting hero since I was a lad, Z4s, great roads and scenery...wouldn't miss this for the world :D

I'm embarrassed to say I've never been before, was really disappointed that I couldn't get something organised this year! Guy told me that they'll have a couple of Lotus on display after the refurb and some sort of driving simulator.

Book me in Danno ( as in Hawaii Five Oh)

When did you get the remap done Peter?
Hi, I got it done around May 2017.

Makes the car into two personalities...low down just a lot more muscular..at the top end screaming banshee...fantastic..no downsides what so ever..

I've been keeping an eye on progress with the Jim Clark Museum extension and there a possibility that it might not be ready in time for the run. I've emailed the Museum (not answering phone) and await reply.

Would anyone mind if we change this to Sunday 16th June so we can be sure its opened and allow for other runs to be put in the diary for May?

Rich

Guys just had reply - It might be better if we try and tie this in with Peters October Border Run next year, if that's OK with Peter.

Hi Richard

Thank you for getting in touch and interest in the new Jim Clark Museum.

Unfortunately the current timescales are for the new museum to be completed by mid-Summer 2019.

I hope your car club might be able to visit another time in the future.

We have recently launched a competition to win a Jim Clark special edition Lotus Evora with donations going to the museum. It would be wonderful if you can circulate details to your car club members. www.jimclarklotus.com

Thank you again for getting in touch and hope you can get to visit in the future.

Kind regards

Ben

Hi Rich, yes we can, do we want to throw a stocking filler in anyway? East coast run?

Just seen a Tweet from the Jim Clark Rooms saying work is going well and still on schedule for opening this Summer '19  IMG_20190122_223032.jpgIMG_20190122_223029.jpgIMG_20190122_223034.jpg

Good stuff,we could maybe get a meet organised for 2020,as this year looks full.
Maybe Richie can get it looked at,as he was going to do it this year??
