Jf customs center console leather skin. How?!

I ordered one of those leather covers for the center console from ebay a few weeks ago.

Finally got it out to have a look at today, and cannot for the life of me work out how to do it?

Firstly it doesn't even look close to a fit. Am I meant to just go at it with scissors and an adhesive?

There isn't really anywhere on the backside to glue it to after stretching over.

Anyone done one before and got some hints and tips?

Was going to get suede gaiters for my gearstick and handbrake too but won't bother if they are a huge pain in the arse.

I retrimmed mine in leather and it is just a case of sticking down with contact adhesive, stretching the leather round and securing to the underside and then trimming any excess. There’s definitely enough space on the back to glue it down. Might need a few small nicks in the leather to stretch around the corners. I found a super-sharp craft knife best for trimming the excess leather.

The handbrake and gear gaiters from JF customs are the same, you just get the leather and so have to glue them to the original plastic surrounds.

Unfortunately I didn’t take any pics of the underside after doing mine…

Here's the underneath of mine:

I'd start in the ash tray area, probably where the sports button and passenger airbag button would be.

You have the stitch running down each edge so trying to set that up around the ash tray is the most important part. The rest will be easy enough.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like a tidy job.

Think the ash tray section looks the most awkward, not quite sure where to cut first! I'm tempted to just drop it all at a local upholstery place and see if they can do it.

I have a bad habit of ruining things.
