jealousy abounds

Hi, I have been called all sorts of names and given negative vibes about the Zed!
Especially that the Zed is a girls car! Its not a proper sports car etc. Happens all the time.
Yet they all want to have a go driving it. Now I reply 'WANT TO DRIVE IT, GET YOUR OWN'...period!
I doubt a girl can handle a car like this, only an elite few can to be fair.
As for me, after owing a plethora of sports cars I think the Zed is a good looking handsome car....just look at the bonnet almost as long as an E type Jags, well almost :-P I was shocked have exceedingly fast it was when I test drove it.
I just love it, enough said!
Now back to my other project. Cortina Mk 1, trying to source a Lotus engine.

A girl can’t handle a Zed......only an elite few can......??!!

You need to take more water with it mate.........

.........Only real men can handle cordial neat..... :P

The zed can only be a man's car, after all its shaped like a mans phallic piece. :driving:

Privileged to be part of the elite. Must be one of Lewis Hammilton’s dreams to own and drive a Z!

Loving the Cortina, is it a real Lotus or(sorry) replica ? Got any more photos of it. There were a few MK1 &11's at Bicester scramble last Suday.
My mate had a MK11 in the early 80's, it had twin 40's...what glorious noise

Now you see I understand the sentiment, but (and it’s a big but) saying it’s a mans car and women ( or few) women can’t handle it is just as bad as saying it’s a girls car that you were originally railing against. Surely it is “an enthusiasts car” . Why do we have to have this bollocks about male or female bias on this forum, we have enough from outside it as you have found. It’s what we, on here, choose to drive, full stop, no gender.
I’m sure I will get flak for this but I for one am heartily sick of the “girls can’t do this” or “men can’t do that” there are only a few things in life either sex can’t do and they are all down to biology not anything else.

Thank you for that but I am happy to identify as male as my wife can attest to! Incidentally she drives the Z and the 911 nearly as hard as I do, nothing to do with gender, just car skills.

No, you won't get flack from any well-reasoned individuals; knuckle-draggers from the 1970s, that's a different proposition.

What irritates me more is the cretinous response you'll often get, when you don't agree with those childish sentiments, involving the word "snowflake"; that's the retort of the intellectually lazy, almost all of whom are using it to hide their own prejudices.

Nice MK1.. I helped a school mate build his when he didn't even have a license yet. Back when we were 16.. sadly his was destroyed when an off duty pissed cop pulled out of a side street on him. Poor end to a great little car.. we drove the pants off that thing.. (well as much as an unlicensed young dumb kid can drive) great memories of that white mark 1 with red stripes..
Thx for the trip down memory lane.

I for one wholeheartedly agree with you, what I was trying to say was, some women, perhaps a majority are often slow and conscientious drivers, THEY would feel somewhat overwhelmed by a faster more powerful car, but some ( I used the word elite, dont know why?) are capable and enthusiastic about such cars.
I have some lady friends who would put the Sting (top gear) to shame and me with their driving skills!
Rgds

Jesus Christ . It’s a (for the most part) old cheap Bmw . With mid 200 horsepower . Hardly a sign of wealth and the first word in power . Enjoy them for what they are . Cheap fun .

All I can say about the Z4 is wait until you try an M.

Coincidentally a mate of mine sold a MK1 Lotus Cortina last year!

They are great cars - I hope you can find an engine for yours OP.

And keep us updated on your progress please!

Of course women can't handle the Z4 as they're all at home looking after the children, ironing and cooking your dinner before you get home so none of them know how to drive!

Imagine it, a woman wanting to drive a Z4. They'll be wanting to vote next! :headbang:

Will do mate, of course they are not old cheap BMWs under 200hp... .taking them as they are (thats the Lotus Mk1) they go upwards of 20 grand nowadays!!! :dizzy: I doubt I will find a good working order Lotus engine soonish.

Sukh.
P.s actually I should have opted for a quad exhaust 3.5 next car defo!

Can you post exactly what you're looking for engine wise as there's a lot of people on here and you never know!
