JB & Miss money penny detail & mod thread E89 35is

for me it frees up over £30k .. which is a lot of cash when not using the car and then we where heading towards winter which again I would be paying the monthly payments and not using it
would be cheaper to hire a car for the day when I wanted one ... but I do really have a soft spot for my old E85 3.0i which for me frees up some cash and still have the hobby car in the garage, I know I will miss the power and torque though that's for sure .. and to be honest was not a easy decision to make. some forum members will think I am crazy for sure no doubt

its a compromise for me ... just frees up some cash for other things .. will keep you updated :)

plus I still have the ESS supercharger in the loft .. just a stage 1 kit (just bringing it down now as we speak) will upload some photos

Hi DPG ... yes a dealer buyer phoned me .. £32k
supposed to pick up this week ?

Good result

Hi DPG ... that's what I thought , and I am sure I will be more then happy with my E85 3.0i, as I regretted selling her in the first place and to my eyes really like the shape of the pre face lift ... also for long term ownership a little less complicated car to own.

But its only Monday .... and hopefully the dealer and owner of the E85 don't change their minds. And to keep a car in the garage just as a tinkering sunny use only makes sense for the older model .. some I am sure will disagree

Why spend all that time cleaning it then :?

Hi Srhutch

at the time I honestly thought it would not sell as explained earlier as I had no phone calls or interest at all .. and was looking at loans to cover the business start up, so would have struggled a bit with the payments but as I thought it would not sell, sort of made my mind up .. hence the cleaning, then a phone call out of the blue asking me was it still for sale .. and the fact it was a dealer they settle the finance for me, so a little easier then a private sale

Great outcome- especially getting your orginal z back- becoming a bit of a forum theme with people sourcing their original cars back! Good luck with the business and detailing your z!

Hi Paddy .. thanks for the comments

I will let you know how I get on etc .... is a strange day today, a little sad to see the 35is go, but for my situation as of now frees up a lot of cash for a car that we where not using, my original plan was just to keep but just did not pan out that way for various reasons which is a real shame ...

Chin up james, you get your old car back and now you have an exciting business venture to look forward to. Who knows, in 3 years (+/-) you might be able to buy another 35is in cash ! Good luck :)

yep .. looking forward to that .. hope the seller does not change their minds though, as I am the world worst for that

Hi everyone ... just a quick update the owner of the Z4 E85 has just changed their mind .. He has now decided to keep her.
So as a compromise I was thinking of getting another Z4M
and I have just seen one on the M watch section ... would be a good replacement for the 35is

Go for it JB. Is that that the low mileage one owner car?

Shame about the other car but hopefully the dealer will come good and you'll have your business venture to fund.
