Jazzed-up wheels on the ///M

One last post on this subject from me as I just got my car back from BJV engineering (cheers for the tip sixspeed). I had the wheels painted in black chrome. I need to source some m badges off ebay now that they've been stripped and painted but I think they are looking pretty cool with the black. A bit more bling than standard bright silver but I think it suits the black on black car...

Actually looking at these pics it's a lot more subtle than I thought but you definitely see the difference in the flesh - I'll take some close ups later and post in the gallery. The finish basically fades to black behind the spokes and the silver is slightly darker all round.

Piano black wheels with a sprinkling of brake dust  on a Z4MC

Tyres are 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 and look less phat than the original Contis

Those V Rods (is it a V Rod or a Jap copy?) are just too long! :o Almost the same length wheelbase as the M!

It is the real deal and belongs to a friend... Says that riding it is "interesting"... He also drives a Z4MR, thus he is excused.... :P

Hi do the Z4m wheels fit a non M
Zed? Do you have pics? Thanks

Ive got the M wheels but with low profile tyres and they do look much better with less rubber round them.

Im not sure about blue cars with dark wheels :|

Dark anthracite M alloys, painted by Lepsons. Not sure if you can PhotoShop them onto your car.

As mentioned above, I do think contrast is important.

tjlazer, subtle change - as I said before, not usually a fan of CSLs on a roadster, but your's look superb

Thanks. Nope, standard ride height - the offset does make it look less "tall". Because of the offset you can't take it any lower than the 3.0 -15mm ride height.

Another photo from another angle...

This sort of shows the offset...

Stunning! I am having second thoughts about getting CSL reps again now. It won't be for a while yet though.

Ps. You've made me confirm that I am keeping my aerial!

Cheers Pawn. That's quite a backdrop in your pics! I'm off to France on Friday and this has just made me more excited. I can't wait to take the car out on some decent roads!

Ahh perfect, on an Interlagos, just what I was after.. I like, I like...

But I still think black would be better! :poke:

Don't think this has been posted here in this thread (if so, sorry for the redundancy):

Go to www.tirerack.com, click "shopping tools", and select "see wheels on your vehicle." You can pick out your car with the right color, and show all 48 wheels they have available for the M. It's pretty cool...

I have satin black OZ Ultraleggera wheels with my winter tyres on. It has a sort of evil look with those wheels, but sometimes the wheels just disappear into the wheel arches with nothing for the eye to be drawn to. I was thinking of doing the OEM in black too, but I thought it had a more sophisticated look with the semi-gloss gunmetal. Lots of playing around with The GIMP (an open source program with the capabilities of PhotoShop) trying different colours before I settled on gunmetal.

Another advantage of gunmetal - it is very close to the colour of brake dust, the wheels never look dirty! It is actually quite a bit of work to clean the satin black wheels to make them look pristine.

Aerobod - do you have any pics?

Hmm, that would definitely put me off! Are you saying they're harder to keep clean than standard?
