Jamie's Monaco blue coupe

Finally got my style 135m wheels back from being powder coated

Sadly still had to leave the 'sailun' rear tyres on which the wheels came with but got a pair of continental contact sport 5s with 7mm on for £90 for the front!

Car gone in for paint today Bmw gave me this

Not without the problems though the z4 before taking it in 3 lights on the dash - it's got the run flat tyre indicator , handbrake and the traction control lights in yellow -won't go off, did a scan it says Steering angle fault, but when driving it's pulling badly to the left so I've asked them to do a KDS alignment - £150 :O

also thought I had a wheel bearing collapsed on way to work this morning an found this!

Miss this car, the most expensive car I've ever owned an I've driven it about ten times since I've had it! It's nice driving round in this 3 series but it isn't mine - it's meant I've spent money on my daily driver, which I've taken a bit of a liking to, too much infact

mcadam just rang said good news they are fitting a new genuine tailgaite rather than repairing to ensure the rust doesn't reappaer & said it should be ready end of this week :)

Great news - should be a weight off your mind - won't have to worry about the rust coming back there again!

It is mate! Just desperate to get it back now :(

Great news, you have to think why they didn't do this in the first place.

I bet you'll get yours back before I do.

I know! Although I am quite fussy like you so will reject it if it's crap

Thanks for posting with your update as I'm still chasing my bootlid through...

They told me BMW want them to just paint it as a new bootlid costs over a grand so I said tough you gave the warranty so you pay. They also tried to be funny about not having enough services but to be honest even if they did find it sooner it would still be a replacement job so...

He's going back to BMW after I told him it wasn't good enough as you can't guarantee elimination of the rust from the inside and the warranty doesn't last much longer before I'll be on my own. Also gave some TCF (Treating Clients Fairly) warnings to him as I know others have had replacements. This will help my case now.

Fingers crossed we all get new bootlids as mine has an annoying plastic vibration now too.

Fingers crossed for you Steve, I never actually argued with them to be honest. They just said because the rust has started from the inside out, that the Bmw approval man had to come down & straight away just said chuck a boot lid on it. As you say at £1028 they aren't cheap :)

We aren't fussy Jamie, we just like a job doing properly and to a high standard.

After all with the amount of man hours and paint applied to mine they're out of pocket and that's not my fault.

I was initially told it would be a new bootlid by the dealer, I think it's BMW UK who are being pests, just some monkey in an office when the guy on the ground clearly knows it needs a replacement.
