Jamie's Monaco blue coupe

Blimey Jamie, that's a kind offer.
I thought the offer was to clean the engine bay - as you can see mine doesn't need it (was like this when I bought it from dealer)

No problem mate like to help out where I can ;)

Wow that is a hell of a lot better presentation than my dealer

I think the clean engine bay had nothing to do with the dealer and everything to do with the previous owner. I bought the car the day it arrived at the dealers :)

Love the interior, but then I do have a vested interest

Curious as to why your boot needs a rust repair - was it damaged at all?

Best interior :)

Yeah it's common on the coupe where the drain holes are at the base - mines gone on the bottom left hand corner!

Yep, definitely the best interior...

:D

Just about every champagne interior I've seen has a crease in the leather, just about where the left bum cheek slides into position though - not sure if it's because the leather is of a different quality to the standard?

I think this topic requires a thread of its own: 'Left bum cheek creasing champagne leather interior - have you been affected?'

Caused by driving the car on the edge, squeaking the cheeks

These cars have very soft Napa leather (the individual champagne colour) which is very suceptable to creasing due to its incredibly soft structure! A shame but it feels lovely!

Rocker box
It might not be your rocker box I though the same I bought a new rocker gasket fitted it, striped two bolts :headbang: putting it back. I had to do it all again. After I got the bits of bolt out. Plus I bought a torque wrench. It turned out to be the plate just under the back of the box This is something to do with the servo To get it undone you need one of those star shaped things It is not an alum key.
The gasket part number is 11 66 8 626 471 all it is a rubber ring. That cost about £6 Best of luck

Have you got a pic Geoff? It Defo looks like the rocker gasket leaking as its dripping down between two of the rocker cover bolts on the side near the manifold

I'm just currently sat in bowker Blackburn having the rust inspected, they're just taking photos now & sending them off to Bmw uk, hopefully get an answer in a week or so.

Be interested to see photo's of the rust Jamie - don't think mine is affected, but would be useful to see how and where they are prone to going.

+1

Good looking Coupe!!! Welcome to the leaking valve cover club mines just sprang a leak too. Those prices look expensive though I reckon its a 2 hour job and a gasket must cost around £60

Hi mate they said it was a 2 hour job but Bmw hourly labour is £125 per hour & gasket is £33.60 so I think it's about right, it's something I'd usually tackle myself as I've done them before but I don't fancy getting involved with all the valve tronic & oil cooler etc
