Jaguar XKR - 5.0 Model

Alright guys,

The time's arrived to treat myself to a new car (the Z4 will be staying though). Got some test drives booked for next weekend, and assuming I like the way they drive, It looks like I'll be adding a convertible XKR to the collection - the facelifted model with the 500hp 5.0 Supercharged V8 engine.

Just wondered if anybody has had a go in one, and if so what did you think? (or the XFR with the same motor).

Alas i've not had the pleasure of driving the 5.0. :(
 
Not driven an xkr but a had an s type r. So the 4.2 supercharged 400bhp one. Wasn't very thrilling but imagine the 5.0 xkr had what that didn't.

edit. Hope fuel economy isn't high on your list of priorities! :rofl:
I averaged about 11-12mpg but was all short journeys. Got 27 on a motorway run though which suprised me.
 
I have the 4.2 but have driven a 5.0 XKR..

It was awesome, as you would expect.

Drive one, fall in love, buy one!

I do fancy one, one day. I do miss the noise of the v8 and the supercharger. Even though the m sounds epic in a different way.
