No apology needed, if I didn't do 20,000 miles a year and need 4 seats, I would be driving a Porsche. Unfortunately I do and the 435d is about the best compromise I've had. Whether its through trickery or not the engine does not sound like a diesel, it's not a sweet song like that straight six of yours, but a deep rumble of a V8, that echoes in your chest and just calls to be used, it is most addictive.
and I'm getting mid 40's mpg, a 0-60 in just 5 seconds in something that weighs close to 2 tonnes, what's not to like
