Jag Arrived at Last

My neighbour had the S type before the XF, and as you say, the XF is a completely different animal. The 2 cars couldn't be more different.

a bit old man for me at the tender age of 34, but hope you enjoy it. bet its good having all those gadgets !

easty - have you sat in or driven a jag in the last 2 to 3 years? The brand has been totally re-invented. They are so way ahead of any of the other makes on the market right now in terms of interior, looks, street image, etc. Makes 5 series and the big Mercs look old and staid. I would not however have had any of the previous generation of Jags if you'd paid me.

Of course it's no Zed or 2 seater sports car and at 32 you probably have other needs, but the make has clearly moved to a new generation now.

I am only 37,and would have an xf (or xk) in a flash...very nice looking cars these days...but did i miss some of ur posts,cj. what happened to the Aston??
Good choice with the jag tho,and some nice toys...have always liked the idea of the rotary gear selector since i was 1st in one, when they came out(a mate looked at one/tho actually went for a 5series),and a nbr used to have one :D

And I'm 32 and would still have one of these in a flash too - certainly over the equivalent 5-series, Audi or Merc. Of course I'm not in the market for that type of car at all, but if I was then I'd be looking at Jag: didn't think I'd say that 5 years ago.

im not for a minute saying they are bad cars, and yeah i agree they have come on massively since the days of the naff mondeo based x-type. my mates dad works at a jaguar dealership and always bangs on about how good they are, and i agree they are far better than they used to be and i especially like the new xj model, quite cool.

Although its a car i see my dad driving and not me, and thats my opinion. The jaguar brand isnt aimed on 20-30 year olds, which is why they probably dont appeal to me and make me want one.

Your a bad influence cj. I think you may have sown a seed in the bennyboy household.
A beautiful looking car that somehow seems to have been overlooked.

OP, looking good  better still with 19" wheel's

I'm onto it already - just a question of which set. Dealer has also agree to change the fronts to new tyres as they only have 4mm so best get them sorted first :)

As a side issue, does the colour always look clean even when dirty? as per silver colour's :)

Only had it a few days and so far not rained (except when I drove it home in a thunder storm) and it's so highly polished and waxed, I don't think anything will hold onto it for a week or so.

I suspect it will conceal dirt well being somewhere between a Sterling Grey (with more sparkle) and a Silver.

It's a lovely motor, the XF is a very good car and its been deservedly successful. However I must admit I'm with Easty. Still very staid image and looks IMO.

Enjoy though CJ !

Not the XF but you should watch this if you get the chance.

Worth a watch.

Thanks - actually watched it the night before I ended up buying the XF. Might have had a subliminal message in there.

Actually similar to those of us who watched the Z4 version the Jag guys noted in the programme the bonnet press was an XF not XJ, etc. etc. We're all the same just different makes :)

Looks very smart CJ

as you've got the touch screen you'll probably need this...

Nice new car CJ, ignore the pipe and slippers jibes, they haven't driven one AND they're all jealous. :D
