Jacking an ///M

Whats the preferred method and points for jacking up an ///M. There's a handy centre point to the rear of the car but is there one at the front? Want to raise the car to clean underneath so assume I'd need axel stands too, so which part of the axel is best to place these?

Don't want the car falling on my head. Been looking at ramps and screwed together planks of wood to create inclines etc but would like to get the wheels off too. Preferably in my small garage and not outside on the gravel. I own a trolly jack by the way.

You need a skinny jack to get in under the front or back. Or drive on to some wood first you have to jack it a long way to get axel stands underneath it tho!

Thanks Tom. Got a low profile jack that goes under okay. Just wondering more about the safety of long term axel stands, where to place them, if I can have the entire car up at once and if there are any preferred methods for safe underside cleaning/wheel removal.

You can put the axel stands where the jacking points are on each corner of the car and use the two points under the body to jack. Mine are just standard jack stands but the car seems very high because its so low lol!

Should be pretty safe tho

Its more a worry getting it off the stands than getting it on!

The M is the easiest Z to lift as it has the front pad as well as the rear.

Any pictures of the car on axle stands? Sounds safer to do either front or back rather than all at the same time.

I Used the rubber blocks at the side (jacking points)to place the car on stand.

Although I still leave the jack in place or put an alloy wheel somewhere just in case, can never be to safe when jacking a car up.....

I only have this one

That helps visualize a lot guys, thanks. So axle stands aren't actually used on the axle. Makes sense to use them at the strongest point being the jacking points as it's easier too.

Right - time to invest in a pair of axle stands!

I've just bought these inkey$. Not used them yet though but they were a decent price with good reviews. I also got some wheel chocks from there too for a fiver.
