I've only just realised...

Walking along looking at cars and generally thinking about colours. Suddenly occurred to me that The BMW colours named after race tracks, Leguna Seca, Interlagos and Imola; all represent the ///M badge colours.

Now I may be really stupid for not noticing it before but for those like me, I thought it was a pretty good ///M revelation
