Hear, hear, chaps! I echo many of the sentiments on here, does that make us elitist snobs? -I hope so!
No, seriously, there's nothing worse than having to share public transport with the Great Unwashed, is there? On Friday I had the privilege to enjoy a ride on Newcastle's Metro from the airport to my home, (a bit quicker than traffic at 50 mins). Some people are scum, the carraige was filthy and smelly, the seats stained. I blame the horrible public, not the operators.
Still, it meant my partner could leave the Z4 in its cosy bed and enjoy my new company car all week whilst I was away, so at least that saved a bit, although even company car users are taxed heavily these days on benefit in kind for both car and fuel, there's no such thing as a Free Lunch. The UK government is adopting an incremental approach to milking us all dry with the poor motorist first in the firing line. I can't wait to retire and get the hell out of the UK for one.
Hmmmm, any good Public Transport horror stories??
