I've been to a funeral today :-(

Before I think the song became well known, my uncle, about 10 years ago, wanted Time to Say Goodbye by Andrea Bocelli....very sad song, made me cry loads
 
At 64 I'm probably not too far off - I would like to be stuffed , put in a glass case and stood in the hall - to my knowledge there is no law to prevent this ! If this is not on then I suppose it will have to be a cremation going out to a few songs from Bob Dylan ( should be quite amusing as I'm so long - might have to be burnt in two halves ).

Did wonder at the last cremation I went to as to when you are actually put in the furnace - is it straight after the service or do they stack up a few for economy - googled this to find out more and discovered some interesting albeit macabre things such as the intense heat of the burners can make the body sit up during the process !
 
Not a problem for me....there will be no one at my funeral, so its doesn't really matter!

When my brother-in-law died we couldn't believe it when, at the end of the service at the crem, they played 'The Runaway Train' and his wife and daughter stood up at the front, turned to face the rest of us and encouraged everyone to join in with the 'Wooo-wooo' bits complete with whistle-chain pulling motions

He was a steam railway enthusiast and they thought that he'd like the irony... somehow it worked...

"always look on the bright side of life" for me too... in my will already also "what a wonderfull world" by louis Armstrong ...conflicting songs there I know but thats the world we live in ...full of condradictions :D
 
Mine is definately "What a Wonderful World",but not by Louis Armstrong, but by Joey Ramone, and it has to be LOUD.

I don't wanna be buried but if I was it'd have to be the Jam's "going underground" ;)

I'd rather not ruin a meaningful song for my nearest and dearest. If you have a piece of music that evokes powerful meaning and memories of love, why the hell would you want to shoulder them with having to think about your funeral whenever they heard it thereafter.

Rather just play out with a smile. "Living in a Box" may be or "burn baby burn, disco inferno" or "it's getting hot in here" . . . . .
