Nothing bad to report back, I hope
Thanks, flew through no advisories, really pleased with the car. Dealership is less than 10 minutes drive away, serviced it etc on a Saturday, dropped it off at 9am and went to look for a new car for the other half, came back at 12 and it was cleaned and ready to go.

Never let the dealer clean the car. Not even the wife gets to do that

You have a wife who WANTS to clean cars?
Point her in my direction. :)

My daughter (19 yesterday as it happens) has cleaned her car twice more than my wife has in the 29 years I've known her. My daughter has cleaned her car twice!

Doing a little maths then, your wife has only cleaned a car once in the 29 yrs you've known her?

Oh what is she thinking of getting?
nothing exciting, a skoda 4wd thing starts with a K. After some research it was the only thing that could tow her horse box and park at the station. I wanted a toyota hilux :D but surprised how good the skoda is and the level of equipment/extras it has, i always remember them being the subject of jokes but things have changed

Can you give any advice on whether it’s advisable to take out a service plan, had mine just over 4 months and wondering what’s the best option. Also who’s better dealership - Eastern Western which is 10mins from home or Parks around 25mins away. Had Mercs and minis looked after at EW but of late heard some poor reviews.

Stevie, I'm not really doing the mileage in the z to warrant a servcing plan. I've always suggested to the other half and my sister that they should, only because it comes as a total surprise to them that their cars need servicing and the shock that you have to pay for it  ive used parks for years (never had any problems), only because they were local and ive always liked having a bmw service history, but I have another mechanic on standby (who i trust) for when other items need changed etc. rear springs, he's based in motherwell if thats any good to you. Bmw want to charge you £59 to change your wipers  I'd stick the service plan money away in the piggy bank each month.

I didn't realise there were restrictions on what cars were allowed to park horseboxes at stations. :?

I know nothing about about nags (apart from the wife), but I don't think it is humane to leave a horse in a box parked at a station all day.

Pondrew, if she had the chance the horse would move into the house. Anyway, the basis of a happy relationship, she's never in! :x

Many thanks for info, I may well take you up on that as well as just putting something away each month. Car is a weekend driver when the weather is good so at this minute it’s spending time in the garage. Did get a nice run along M8 on Thursday in the sun to Glasgow and back Edinburgh bound. Hopefully will make it out soon :driving: :

She is expensive to maintain and like myself, not as good as once was but as good once as ever was. Open to offers
