well, as I have already said.... start with BMW. :?
you can move on to Jag, Merc, Audi and Masserati can be in there too... (and spare me the internet stories of them all blowing up and eating kids/destroying themselves when you start them up

)
fun cars can be an MX5, RX8, S2000, monaro, Caterhams, list is pretty big...even some of the Jap stuff like the integra (best FWD handling car I believe) would be hard work on a twisty road to keep up with.
in fact, I'm looking at a 500bhp monaro as a play thing, still way less than a M to buy, rear wheel drive and big V8 - just as much fun, if not more, and fits 4 with luggage... :evil:
I'm not having a go at the M car...I'm honestly not.....don't know why people keep thinking that...I was only replying to the post that (claiming now in jest) that you can't find anything with more power for M money.
I never bought one, I have driven plenty, on road and track.... but I fail to see how my lack of ownership means I can't comment on the FACTS of power/cost of other cars??? do you have to own something to provide facts on it on this forum?
I looked at the M, the Alpina and a few 3.0, at the time, the 'lesser' 3.0 suited me better....
