It's not just ///M prices that are increasing...

And the engine was discontinued - the Alpina boys will tell me if I got that right.

Now there is a project for JE an Alpina Coupe

No 265. Is there any significance to the fact it has been imported?
It's a RHD car so would have been made for the UK market and the ad says that it was originally a Sytner car.

It's possible that it was owned by someone in the Channel Islands which means that it would have officially been exported - if you bring a car back from the CI to the mainland, you have to re-register it and pay VAT.

Alternatively, it could also have been exported to Ireland and then brought back to the UK

The engine wasn't really discontinued as Alpina only built them as required, but production of the RS was stopped because it didn't meet the Euro4 emissions regs - bit of chicken/egg situation there as you could say the engine was the reason that it didn't meet the regs.

It's just pure coincidence that BMW announced the Z4M in October 2005 just as the last batch of Alpina RS' were being built...... honest, guv

I have to say I'm delighted with my recent January purchase, especially in view of the rising prices.
And long may it continue !

265 is a great looking car and the dealer has some very interesting cars on offer, but when I keep reading 'stunning' 'jam packed' 'exquisite' 'whopping' 'luxury' 'mind blowing' etc etc - its a massive turn off. Reminded me of that recent thread about annoying adverts.

I know what you mean, hyping up an advert can be a good sign of a bad car.

Outside for MR Hutch ... I'm trying to work out if 265 was the car I saw up here about two years ago with low miles on it - very similar and it was a high number

Shear coincidence both mine have been black TBH. Quite like the silver one TBH. Not sure on the Sterling one for some reason or other though.

Yep - that is the one I almost bought - the number plate I remember and the clear xenons - it was for sale 5 miles from where I live and I drove it the week before I bought my M .

It also has an Alpina badge on the rear which looks a bit strange- it's on for the same money as it was up for up here 2.5 years ago.
