It's looking like goodbye....

So, my lovely little z4 is now off with it's new owner & been replaced by the 'Grandad express' - a BM 7 series.

It's an incredible machine with all the bells & whistles, but it does leave me a little cold TBH.

With the z4, the drive was the fun & the destination a bonus.

The 7 series? Super competent, super comfortable, super pretty - but super boring. It's a transporter device of epic quality - but the drive is forgettable at best.

I do love it, but it's not the same.

Doubt I will be back in the fold after all these years of z4 ownership - time has got the better of me & comfort is what it's all about now, but sure to pop back in at some stage if only to argue with some of you :)

Donation made, this forum has been a highpoint of the z4 journey. Thanks to all that make it such a great community.

Matt

Found a G11 730d that had low miles, good history, and £22k worth of options. It's a nice thing for an old man like me.

Expecting some big bills to come, but for now it seems spot on.

Next few days just sorting cosmetics (100 stone chips & a good detail).

Looking at your signature, it's clear that Z4 runs through your veins.
I like to think that I'll always be able to drive a roadster, but maybe someday, I too will have to move on.
Getting in and out of my recently acquired Z4 is a chore compared to my daily driver, but I think I can still manage for now. I recently forgot my workflow was to first sit, then pivot into the driving position. I tried to lead with my leg one time and had the hardest time getting into the car with that pesky steering wheel blocking me. :p

Ah the old 'land yacht'.
In some Countries they are taxed as a boat! ;):p

I know someone who has a G series 7, but his is a company vehicle, so they can write the depreciation down against tax. Thank God.

I’m sure that will be a lovely yoke, be sure to share pics.

I know what you mean now I'm getting older.

I've just got home after a few days meeting up with family in my old 330i and while it is comfortable, smooth and reasonably quick it doesn't quicken the pulse like my Z4 does. So all the time I can get in and out my Z4 is staying!
