It's finally ///M time for mr wilks !

Beautiful Golf  :D

It is nice to get a car to a nice condition though if the base car is still sound paint wise.

It must have been the cheapest 2008 car about.

The seller "Dan" came up with a figure he was happy with that covered his expenditure since he bought it off Woots .
I was more than happy especially after viewng/driving the car last week , very minor marks on lower edges of front fangs & a very light "ding" in drivers door that can be felt more than seen
Its due a brake fluid change which i will get done along with fresh coolant but otherwise its mechanically sound
It was only serviced with Ins 1 1000miles ago at Darren Wood incl valve clearances checked .
It was MOTd earlier this week with no advisories so its time for some more fuel & away we go :driving:

Man, you've been a busy chap since last night :D

I never get tired of looking at that engine, it is a thing of beauty - probably because unlike all the other M cars I have seen lately, it's all exposed to the eye.

Great job

...beautiful. So what do you have in store for the wheels?

Right well Steven things haven't gone to plan there this week :?
i know i can trust you forum folks to keep a secret from mrs w  so here are the 3 sets i'm looking at after my first 2 choices proved to be out of stock in the colour/offsets i wanted

Great price but not sure the graphite will work with the silver grey car ? http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/product_info.php/new-performance-alloys-matt-anthracite-deeper-concave-rears-p-3367

Think these are currently my favourite

but i know the CSL works with all Zs so these have caught my eye as i like the black rears

all ideas & input are welcomed

All nice wheels Andy.i think your car would look good with the 1st set in graphite :
Fancy them for mine too :D 3rd ones a wee bit bling for me.

Yeh agree, the graphite might not suit the car, but the hyper black CSLs would give a beautiful contrast, really give the car an aggressive look

Those graphite cs wheels would look great and they look cheap, but have you thought about keeping the ones fitted as the car loots fantastic as is. Enjoy

Andy, this completely passed me by at the weekend.
Didn't see any of your posts.

Only just noticed your sig from something you'd commented on.

Congratulations! A fantastic looking car and something that you're clearly very pleased with.
I look forward to hearing about your trip to Scotland and France in the ///M and how it performs and how you get to know the car.

it's a lovely example. I've never seen that colour combo before so it's a bit different too!

He had a great spec on his car... Shame the carbon engine goodies were not included (or were they?!)

Afraid not , the induction kit is now on another members car & the changing over left Adam with a rough idling problem that was traced to a badly connected hose .
All running sweet now though
 i take it the guy who owned it in between kept the sock?!

They are the cheapest but too narrow at 9" rear

Too late as theyre ordered :poke: slightly lower offset & same widths as 224s means they will sit a little wider & give me the option of 255 or 265 rubber 8)
