6 months old and she still barks at the TV when there's an animal on and seeing herself in the mirror freaks her out. The older one gives her a look that can only be described as withering. If dogs could tut she would
 
Our GSD barks at the TV when dogs come on..... Weird.... Its only since digital TV can dogs see the screen as we see it,apparently in analogue form they saw the screen in a series of individual pics..

Our dog loves the TV,he will watch it for hours on end..

Don't see how, as analogue TV was not made up of separate pictures in the first place, but rather scan lines :poke:

Its about the refresh rate of the image,not what the image is made up of. We also have "flicker fusion frequency" which is a lot slower for us than our dogs,so on an old analogue CRT television the refresh rate was slow,fine for humans but the dog would see a stuttering image as its "FFF" is much higher than the TV can provide.

With CRT defunct and plasma/LCD having a lot higher refresh rate the dog now see's a flowing image...

I think thats how it is,its a few years since i read about it...
 
Our cat loves TV. One time, she was watching birds on a nature programme and when they flew off screen she ran behind the TV looking for them. Honest.

We lost ours GSD 2 years ago just before christmas.... i vowed never to have another as losing him was heartbreaking,and the house seemed dead without him there...

But within a few months we went to the rescue centre and took on our Stan..

Here is a picture of him....He was a big big dog,he was 61kg,whereas out current GSD is 32kg...
