It's another roof issue

Hi All

We had some glOrious sun today so I thought I would pop the roof down for the first time this year. Ever since I have had the car the roof is slightly laboured and needed help going back. The roof goes back up fine though. The reason I am asking for some advice is that when I put the roof back today where the buttons are to put the roof back is a red light and when it was back it was flashing. What does this mean?

Stop being such doom & gloom mongers and RTFM the lot of you - red roof light is not necessarily that bad. It can be a temporary blip, cycle the roof meachanism several times up and down before panicking (with engine running of course).

Mine intermitently has came on since I collected the car over 2 years ago and given no real issue. Is it not to do with the locking latch not doesn't quite catching - there are more detail somewhere.

Was around Glasgow today (without the zed) and spotted at least 5 cars with the top down (no Zeds) - thinking well done that man / woman.

Good luck !

Also get some lube on the hinges get roof half way down exposes them , the better all those are take strain off the motor , lube top latches as well ok
Cheers rog

maybe it timed out, mine does that sometimes, I think it's a little low on hyd. fluid and/or air in the system and if it takes too long to close or open it times out and stops, ..power reset and do it again it works !!

Thanks for the advice. When the motor is on its way out are there any signals as the motion is no worse than last year. It's as though it is low on hydraulic oil rather than a struggling motor. It just needs a bit of help going back but returns fine. Is this what to expect when they are on there way out. If it does pack up is there away of putting it up and down manually?

Many thanks

Yes to all - have a look in your handbook and it will give you details of the manual process.

Can anyone suggest where to go for a roof mit or change? How much should I expect it to be? Do you need any specialist tools or can you do it yourself?
