Its adios Alfa Brera

I just cant keep up! I get the impression that Alfa`s are like TVR`s in that they are better to look at than actually own sadly.

I'm not surprised Andy.

Haven't driven mine for three weeks, can I tempt you

Don't be such a pussy - get out and drive it

Andy - you won't last, I reckon an MR is in your future. Given how long you keep cars you'll be able to enjoy the next few weeks of the summer (if it comes back) and then get yourself in an MC, which is where your hormones want you to be :D

You change cars more often than i change my pants!! Whats next Andy? That Blue z4mc i was looking at last Friday was actually a good car?????? £9.5K But was recorded cat d so probably hard to move on. There for no good for you

Bing is right. Poppy the ///MC has to be the best second car I've owned and I do feel partially cured. Very individual, rare, powerful and 16 years old this week

It looked great but lacked poke & pedigree

Interested you say it lacked pedigree? If there's one thing Alfa's have, it's pedigree. Can't argue with the lack of poke though - reviews always pointed out that the Brera was too heavy and Alfa's engine line up didn't help with the massive power gap between the twin spark engines and the venerable V6 3 litre, which went through petrol like Gazza goes through vodka... I was sorely tempted by the Prodrive fettled GTS though - still the most stunning Brera, and to my mind a future classic.

Saw that coming.

I researched the Bera to death as it was my other option to the z4c at the time and for all the reasons you are getting rid of it were mine not to pursue one. Lovely styling, but thats it.

Can you be tempted with a M?? Every day in a M feel special, like you driving a classic. To date i have never seen another z4m convertible so i feel pretty exclusive, but i do live in Peterborough!

Perhaps "pedigree" is the wrong word . It certainly felt nice in the cabin & materials used were good , 95k & no marks on steering wheel controls which can't be said of most BMW wheel button's :poke:

I think the nailer was using my son's MK5 Golf GTi whilst he was on holiday , cost almost £2k less , has covered 30k more yet just felt that i could fill it with fuel & head for the med without hesitation . It's hard to capture in one word but whilst the Brera had no faults, rattles ,knocks or squeek,s whenever i was out in it it was always in my mind that it felt kind of "fragile" in a un germanic way & i guess after approx 20 german motors iv'e got used to a certain build & feel
Perhaps a jaunt to Normandy next week in it would have cured the paranoia but as i need to transport a dishwasher i think the van is more suited

Ah well, according to Clarkson, you can't consider yourself a proper petrolhead unless you've owned at least one Alfa - welcome to the club :)
