We set the house alarm (zoned) at night if that went off it would wake a graveyard .......

We do the same - but I fear the alarm going off in the middle of the night would put me in the graveyard!

Mines gone off in the night and it puts the fear of god in you :|

Our alarm has gone off at night before and i'm straight down the stairs with the maglite 6d in hand (its as big as a baseball bat). Having said that if there was an intruder and they saw me racing down the stairs towards them stark b****ck naked they'd probably not be able to get out the house quick enough. They'd be scarred for life

Friend of mine had his M135i stolen the day after they went on holiday, they turned the house upside down and stole only the car keys and all the finance paper work that went with it.
They got it back along with alot of other high end cars, it was like something from gone in 60 seconds.
Can't BMW track the cars now? They know where you are if you have an accident and with the online services you can locate your car with an app ob your phone.

I'm not going to leave my keys easily accessible. This would end up in hanging them on a hook on the front door with a message saying 'help yourself mate' in order to avoid having my house ransacked.

A good burglar alarm and a 12 bore is the only answer :wink:

Only problem with this is even if you have access to a gun , pointing it at someone loaded or not could come with a prison sentence .
Wasn't it the farmer Tony Martin that shot blindly in the dark and killed a gypo and ended up in the big house for quite a while ? At least you wouldn't put any miles on the car for a couple of years , think of the value it may gain whilst your sat on the bog in front of your cell mate then slopping out in the morning

I too was shocked when I looked on 192.com. They do indeed get the data from the electoral roll. I think that it is totally wrong for the Government to share this data with a profit-making enterprise.

We are quite careful. Our phone is ex-directory and does not display our number when we call. We are also on the Mailing Preference Service which does work so we don't get spam post.

As you say there are bad people out there and we don't need the Government helping them! :thumbsdown:

It's not the government. It is a private company. You can opt out of the voters roll register when you complete your form.
