IT Guru Needed

Sound like you have been tricked into installed some "software" which is advertised as being "good" for you and magically finds lots of problems and then fixes them - WRONG. The first problem is the software itself - most people dont realise that most of this freeware is rubbish and will only SLOW your PC down.

Here is how i would tackle this problem

1) Uninstall LOLA and any other "speed booting" or "cleaning" applications you have knowingly or unknowings instaleld via Add Remove programs. This includes stuff like spyware cleaners, malware cleaners, turbo boost software etc etc

2) Disable all Internet add-ons and get rid of any nasty search providors other than trusted ones like google or bing (this is not related to the reported issue, but will help your browsing experience

3) run msconfig from the start menu and as per a prior post stop all unncessary applications from running on start up which you dont recognise - this will reduce the clutter from your system tray (bottom right)

4) once you have rebooted, download and install, update and run the following
- spybot
- CCleaner (as per prior post)
- Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org/

5) reboot as advised

6) What anti virus do you have? If you have Norton - bin it and install AVG Free 2013 and run a full scan

After this lot your PC will be back to full health

The above may not be so easy to follow in the detail - so if i can help further, let me know.

Cheers
Jamie
