Issues with my Z4 E85

So I recently pickup a 2004 Z4 2.5L Automatic with approximately 115k miles. I love the car and can see why so many of you are passionate about Z4s. It’s got a good set of options such as navigation/tv, aux, Heated leather seats, and even cup holders haha.

The cars been modified by some of its previous owners and has the following:

- 18inch staggered Alloys
- 30 mm eibach lowering springs
- Ram air induction kit

I even found signs of LED lights that used to be under the car. Apparently at one point the vehicle was wrapped purple.

Anyways I love the car and the engine seems to run great and no issues with the roof. However, after getting a really bad flat tire replaced today, it was time to take it to the mechanic to investigate what else was hiding.
Health Check- £38.50
Heat shield securing-£43.50
Nearside rear tyre-£73.00
Both front link arms-£177.00
Rear metal brake pipes-£296.20
Exhaust Bolts-£162.00
Air bag light and handbrake would need to be further assessed.
All prices are fully fitted all inclusive.

I’m willing to put money into it, but as long as it makes sense. I’m worried that the above doesn’t address the car being lowered and could lead to other issues. Apparently the fuel tank has a dent as a result of being so low.

What do you guys recon the car would be worth if I fixed everything? Don’t want to sink too much more into the car if it’s not worth it.

Wish my first post was more of a positive one!

I reckon about £3.5 - £4k.

Also, some of those prices look very dodgy. Front link arms??? If that’s the antiroll bar drop links they are about £20 and take 10 mins to fit!

Exhaust bolts £162??? WTF!

As ph001 said, id be looking for a more honest and knowledgeable garage to have a look at your car, if you put up your location maybe somebody can advise a better place to have a look at it

I’m located in Chester.

Apparently the Exhaust bolts are so rusted that they need to heat them up and it might be difficult to remove and replace. That cost seemed very high to me as well.

Any suggestions of garage or independent mechanics around Chester?
