Issues with Front defrosters

Hello, I would like to know if anyone could assist or provide a method to fix this problem on my own. The weather is getting colder and when I try to put on my defrosters no air will come out. I hear the fans working but it sounds like the air is being blocked out. All heat and cold air components work, including seat warmers, front vents, and side vents, except the defroster.

I ran Bimmerlink with a Bluetooth OBDII scanner and only got 1 code: 9C4B Defrost flap (LIN)

Could someone provide a guide or assistance with fixing this?

The motor driven flap has probably failed…it’s a pig to get to…specialist job to get to / repair..

Video on YT someone taking fan motor out, didn't seem a big job, try to find it. I know i copied the video because i have always had a twig or something in the fan blades, sounds like a cricket only on fan lowest setting.

TYSM for this!!! Could you supply a part number for this piece? I tried looking up the website you were using, but it appears to be shut down/ blocked. Do you have the actual PDF from this link?

You need to use realoem.com for part numbers etc..no restrictions on access

Hey, just an update. I decided to do the job and swapped out the part. This however did not fix the issue. Instead of no air coming out any end when turning on the defrosters, air will now come out from the dash when clicking the defroster button... I followed the image steps and swapped out the part to the left of the air blower motor but now I'm lost. Do you have any idea what might've happened or what went wrong?
Thanks!

Having cleared error codes what’s the current code?

9C4B - same as before.
I’m not sure if the actual actuator needs to be reset but the only thing currently working with the new one is front dash air. The footwell air isn’t coming through and the front defroster air as well. Any ideas?

Have you coded /recoded the unit?

I have not. I assumed the system would adjust it but I guess it does need to be recalibrated. Do you know if this is possible with BimmerLink or would I require other software to do so?
