Issues on my road trip

Update: head light now fires slightly slower than the other but does it every time!

Oh and the one touch up is now working on drivers door window. It was diegnosed with anti trap failure.

Seems it's electric gremlins... Altinator???

definitely... these cars act really funny when battery or alternator isn't charging properly.

Just checked in to our hotel in Vierzon.

Nav crashed again today. glad I got a tomtom, it's been spot on all the way.

Apart from the Nav issue its been a blast, fantastic driving conditions.

Regarding your sat nav issue, have you got an Intravee fitted? If so try disconnecting it from the car for a short time. I had similar issues to you with my nav screen and that fixed it after several unsuccessful attempts by BMW to fix it under warranty.

Strange one, I have noticed on the odd occasion when I go back to my car my wing mirrors have folded up.

Also the nav screen was off a lot yesterday.

Ok so the fun continues...

The telephone option from the nav screen as totally gone, I'm sure it was part of the 4 options at the top?

Pulling upto a round about, the revs drop and engine stals.

The revs are bouncing, again maybe pointing to altinator?

Band new battery.

However voltage was dropping 12v when stationary (engine running) and under high load (heated seated, heater, blower, lights).

I had this before, pulling the fuse to the Bluetooth module rebooted it and made the option re-appear.

Disconnecting the battery has a similar effect if easier. Suspect mine is due to the original battery getting weak as it's taking its time to fire up from cold.

Thank you I will give it a try, can you remember the fuse number.

The more this goes on the more I think it's down to the altinator, battery is ruled of for me as its only just 3 weeks old.

Wish I could help further by remembering what fuse it was! What battery did you go for out of interest?

I want for the RAC one (short of time to shop around), it's made by a company I did know of but now can't remember. It was the same spec as my bosh S6 but as a 5 year warranty.
