Wow I cant beleive this

Picked up my 5th z4 on tuesday pre reg jan done 29 miles and noticed yesterday that the rear right light cluster cracked completely round the bottom seam, some cracks going up into the indicator section, and the left hand cluster you can see it beginning to part. My last 10 plate had issues with the dam things fogging and the front lights fogging as well. Its booked in on 6th June for evaluation, but i think the cover will fall off before then.

Also hill assist stopped working today its now done 210 miles. since my 06 had always had it so when going into works car park which has a key barrier I never rolled back but this simply does not apply the break for 2 secs. I noticed this on my drive where I revers in. Leaving it in reverse and start engine it normally holds after I release the break, this simply rolls forward. The last z4 10 pate was auto so had hill assist as default. Its a bit concerning that a safety device is not working.

I also cannot get my phone to blue tooth. It pairs but no phone list uploads. All I get is the stupid voice saying please repeat and then no numbers registered. My 06 and 08 m sport had no issues (10 plate did not have it). The phone is a HTC one so would expect this to pair easily.

Finally dab I get nothing, cant seem to scan for new stations its stuck on the north west, I got it from Manchester but It now lives in Derby.

dam unsure why its engine based but thought it a bit funny. nothing in the manual saying its cylinder based. Hay like the launch control ohh thats for the 3.5 's. one I can tick off the list then

I've got a 28i msport, it does not have hill assist.

Pity, I had a 23i before which had it, I got used to it. However I'm ok with the electronic brake now, just takes a bit of getting used to.

Voice control phone numbers have to be inputted independently of your phone contacts list. If u want to phone someone using voice control you need to dictate their name and number then save then it works.

Yes its getting used to not only the electronic break but no hill assist.

Found the bluetooth problem and DAB issue, Just needed to read the manual again and going through it.

hill assist is purely software. doesn't apply the actual handbrake but works using the ABS system i believe
so just needs some gyroscope thingy but at a loss why this wasn't added to the 4 pots

So 2 new light clusters replaced.

Asked them to check on the hesitation so they reset it and did a test drive all ok. I had it splutter on the next day.

Something is strange, I had ron97 in when they did the reset and had 370 miles from that tank which was normal, filled with esso 95 and this week im seeing over 50mpg. Done 187 miles and tank level is just under 1/4 used with range showing 348 thats estimated 529 miles. in my old 3.0 i would be looking at 1/2 tank at this miles.

I did have one nasty stall, I think its the auto stop start getting confused, Im in 6th slowing down but normally let the engine tick over to keep me running, but it was spluttering so dropped the clutch to change gear as the speed was dropping and I think it tried to engine stop as I pulled clutch in. I got a yellow stop start indication on the dash and it did not do any other stop starts again. Coming home tonight all is fine and no hesitation or spluttering. I am going to turn this off for a bit to see if I get any issues, if so It may be me vs the program.

Unsure of the rpm.

In all the other zds and infact a 118 hire car the other day, if I am on a flat I can normally slip the clutch out and let the engine revs drop slightly from idle but normally it would automatically increase the revs to tick over level.

This thing does not want to do it. Its even gone to auto stop when still moving slightly.

The 118 was quite interesting but again when crawling I could just let the tickover increase and drive at 10mph in 2nd.
