I was sat thinking the other day on what my silver coupe would look like if i got the wheels refurbed in anthracite, a quick google search brought up that te original z4 coupe concept car had just that.

Has any one had their wheels done in a darker colour, preferably with pics?
If not whats the general opinion on the looks of the coupe witht he darker wheels, i think it quite suits it?

Gunmetal on titan silber, here it is -> http://fadump.free.fr/Z4/Jantes_CSL/index.html and http://fadump.free.fr/Z4/Balade%20en%20cab%20%C3%A0%20Chartres/index.html

I like it. Was considering having mine powder coated when I've got the spare cash.

Just a bit concerned how it might affect resale as not to everyones taste.

That'd be my only concern. When I refurbed my previous car's wheels I almost went dark, but was boring and stayed silver. Just as well because I sold the car 4 months later...

Dark wheels on a silver car does look good though :)

Dark wheels can end up looking smaller.

Also, unless it's a decent wet paint finish they can look dull/lumpy, and that shows up more with a powder coated base (which seems popular these days)

A really well done wet paint anthracite can look stunning, with ultra sharp crisp laquer highlights! Problem is most are not :(

I do like the darker wheels, but it's all a case of degrees of darkness. Too dark on the black end of the continuum and they can look heavy, racetrack or a bit gangster, but each to their own.

Agree with Mr Whippy on the finish and I spent my money making sure the centres were done in a 3 coat process from black paint, wet chrome and lacquer. the shine makes them look way better than a flat finish
