Hi guys,

Need some wheel and tyre help please for my E86 3.0si

Currently looking to swap out my CSL reps to a new set of Ispiri FFR6’s in Carbon Graphite but hoping to still use my existing tyres.

https://www.ispiriwheels.com/ispiri-ffr6.html

Can you please tell me whether the a) the new alloys fit and b) can I use my existing tyres without any issues?

Alloys Offsets:
Fronts - 19x9" ET35
Rears - 19x10" ET42

Current tyres:
Fronts - 225/35/19
Rears - 255/30/19

Look forward to any suggestions and help.

Thanks

I believe forum member @Rally has these and they fit perfect. Not 100% on tyre sizes.

///M fitment different to Si though & a 9jet35 on 3.0coupe will run the liner unless Se springs & rubber band tyres.
Also putting 255-30-19 tyres on a 10j rim  might as well paint them on :D
More study required Op :(

I Had 255/30's on my 19'' 10j rim with no issues. Car was lowered on either FK springs or eibachs also.

Thats 19x10 et35 by the way, so the rears will fit fine on your car.

Not a pretty look tho & the rub I meant was with the 9jet35 front not the rear

Depends what your preference is. I didn't mind it. It looked pretty enough for everyone to comment on how lovely the car looked

The ride on standard sized tyres is dreadful at best, so it wasn't actually too bad on these.

Looks very well indeed but I wouldn't fancy covering any spirited miles.
What were the front width /offset & tyre size?

I believe they were 8.5x19 et35 or et38. Tyre size was 225/35/19 and they were a bit too stretched for my liking.

I did a road trip to Scotland in it and it felt perfectly fine to both myself and the missus, though I was a lot younger back then. Not sure my back could take it now

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated.

I bought the car with normal springs on the front and eibachs on the rear, so hopefully front would be OK?

However, the rear wearing not much rubber may be a concern...

265-30 or 275-30 on the rears will be fine.
9j front is want 235-35-19 & with et35 I'd be concerned about rubbing on lock & compression.
225-35 on 9j "might" solve that but can't imagine it would look great..
For ref I have a set of Veemann 19s.
8.5j front et35.
They rubbed on my front arches on the Si coupe with 235-35 tyres.

Andy, I definitely think you should do a definitive sticky post on what tyre/wheel combo will work for each Z variation. Your knowledge here is oracle....so would massively help the masses.

Maybe you can explain the differences between ET and tyre sizing...something like...

- Optimal Set Up for Daily Driver (looks and ride)
- Maximum size for looks
- Track for handling

Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate all the input.

It has led to a rethink about what alloys may be a better fit. Therefore now considering the ISR10’s instead.

Would 19" x 8.5" et15 front and 19" x 10" et22 rear be any better or am I worse off using the same tyres?

Apologies, not a clue when it comes to offsets and tyres!

They would be sitting outside of the arches like a monster truck

The lower the et number. The further out the alloys will fit.

  Bloody hell, skip that idea then!

Thanks for the heads up - think I'll have a chat with CM wheels or someone who can guide me from the get go.

For Si Z4 as a rule of thumb aim for front 8.5j et 38/42
Rear 9.5j et 35/42
From those numbers a little variation can work but you would need to pay attention to tyre sizes

Hi Mr Wilks,

Just the bite of info I was looking for! I've been musing over a few sets of wheels for a while now, and always struggle to decode the et/width.

In particular, I had been eyeing up some out of stock CSL reps that I thought were a good fit (Front 19×8.5 ET38 & Rear 19×9.5 ET43), and they've just come back into stock on the same day I read this! Coincidence? I think not....

But before I do unspeakable things to my credit card, I've 2 questions if you would entertain them?

- What would you suggest for tyre sizes? (a range for profile/width that I should aim to stay within would be a great help).

- Will the et43 on the rear cause an issue? (you've suggested et42 as the upper guide, I'd hate for the extra mm to thwart this for me).

(For context - being fitted to e86 3.0 with B12 kit)

i finding this website pretty useful for working out offset, you can also play with tyres sizes to see what works.

https://www.willtheyfit.com

As an example i've used my style 108s (i'm also running B12) as the current and mr wilks suggestions as the new set up numbers (with 19 rims).. once you've had a play with tyre sizes, have a look to see if they are well supported and what the difference in costs are before pulling the trigger. I currently have 2 baskets filled.. fancy some new wheels on the Z and i've just gone stage 2 on the mini so i want a wider track/ bigger footprint from the tyres. :?

fronts
https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.p...2=35&wheel_size=19&wheel_width=8-5&offset2=42

Rears
https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.p...2=30&wheel_size=19&wheel_width=9-5&offset2=42

NB. if you want performance (and comfort) it might be worth the weight saving and going for a narrower rim with a slightly bigger offset with the same tyre size that you might need to stretch over a wider rim to make them fit in the arches.. if it's just for looks go big.

Those wheel would sit & fit a treat , tyre sizes for me would be 235 35 19 & 255 35 19 though possibly 225 35 19 front if the car is sitting low
