ISOFIX passenger seat

A bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a black, heated, manual adjustment, non-M-Sport seat with the ISOFIX anchors please? I believe FL cars may have been fitted with them as standard, whereas pre-FL was optional. Possible buy or swap/exchange?

As an option I suppose I could also consider a pair in a different colour if the passenger one has the ISOFIX.

Assume you are talking E85/6

Not all face lift cars have them. There were made standard IIRC later on, and also came with the passenger airbag deactivation included.

Front facing.

I’ve been reading all the laws and guidance on the matter. Lots of opinions on having airbag deactivation on or off also, the law being off with a rear facing. Some say just slide the seat as far back as it will, others that the front passenger airbag should be de-activated for any child up needing a car seat (<12 yo or 135cm).

I don’t believe ISOFIX is strictly necessary with the class of high back booster seat I’ll be using, as it uses the three point seat belt, but it is a bit more reassuring being securely connected to a rigid fixing.

I take my daughter in the car every now and then in a front-facing seat. I spent a long time researching and the best guidance was from the AA.

Only rear facing seats legally require the airbag to be shut-off and as you say, seat back as far as it can go.

I only take her for a leisurely drive every now and then, but obviously as a 2-seater the safest option is not to take them out at all

I have a ISOFIX bracket. You could send me your standard bracket and I would send you my ISOFIX bracket.

You have to get your passenger seat out of the car. Get rid of 8 screws and you got the metal bracket

Send me a PN if you are interested.

Certainly interested if it is possible to get ISOFIX without having to buy new/change seats.

you won't get the ISOFIX bracket from your local BMW dealer, since it is not possible to order that bracket alone (without a seat undertray).

But I have a spare one.

Hi ErrErrminator - just wondering if you managed to get this sorted? Been wanting to retrofit the Isofix and airbag deactivation of mine too.

I’m working on it. Will post up a thread with details if I manage to get it all done as I hope.

Now sorted thanks to Monaco84. No need for a new seat after all. An Isofix bracket to replace the one without will be fixed into my car at the weekend, meaning I can take my son out for a drive at last.
