Hi guys, quick question for you. If the z4m was bought in the isle of man (buchanens BMW) does this make it a regular uk supplied car for when I come to sell it on or might I have problems?
Just visited nice lookin 1 owner roadster at snippersgate but not sure bout whole isle of man situation.
Also car had running in service done and has since had 2 oil servicings done at 8k and 11k and computer is saying 5k til inspection service-does this sound right?
Cheers in advance!

The service interval can be reduced if it's a low mileage car as you still need to do one every 2 years (or more frequently if you wish).

What the current mileage on it? The gap between oil service & inspection should be between 12k & 15k miles.

It sounds like it had an interim oil service at 11k, but the indicator was not reset - which would mean it'll do about 11k between the original oil service and the next inspection. If it's only been a weekend car or driven around town then the fuel consumption will be higher and the service interval reduced due to this.

Can't help on the IOM thing though, other than to say that the BMW.co.uk website lists Buchanan's as a dealer.

Is the car in mainland UK now, or still in IOM? What does the V5/warranty/service book say?

So here's the low down on importing from the I of M:

http://www.import-car.info/images/dftguide.pdf

You will need a Certificate of Conformity - ensures the vehicle complies with EU/EEC regs and as most I of M cars are UK cars merely imported to the I of M and first registered there it's not normally an issue. Every new imported vehicle into the UK comes with a Certificate of Conformity and it's this along with other paperwork that the dealer gives to DVLA to first register the vehicle. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info Alan. The car is in the uk so all the import stuff mist be done. Would that not put off future buyers as a grey import?
