Is Whalen the best short shift knob?

Back in my Audi TT roadster days, I had a custom shift knob from Auto Aesthetics (clicky da linky). Raffi's works were mainly geared (no pun intended) toward the Audi crowd, though he has seemed to branch out a bit. For the TT, these shift knobs were the pinnacle of craftsmanship, balance and weight, and dramatically helped smooth out the rubbery clunky shifting the TT inhereted from its VW Golf roots.

Nothing at A/A for the Z4, BUT it struck me how similar the Whalen products are... I was thinking of a ZHP... now I may have to look into a Whalen.

my whalen knob is good, but if im going for a good squirt, i put the stockie back in as i can get a good grip on the knob and the throw is closer to the steering wheel. Also, since there is more leverage, less force is needed to get the knob into gear

It is an actual BMW part and weighs in at 8 oz. Now you got me interested...hmmmm. I'd have to see one first. :? :oops: 8)
