For rear facing that is a requirement. Forward facing is not.
That doesn't sound right....rear facing until 4?tomscott said:the UK guidelines say children must remain rear facing until 15 months old buts its recommended to keep them rear-facing until they are 4.

My memory is vague now but I remember a rear-facing seat for only a short period.....maybe a year max?
I am trying to think of the logistics of a 3-4 year old in a rear-facing seat. Not only would they cause havoc looking only at the seat at that age (boredom) but the baby seat would need to sit a long way forward, as a 3-4 year old is quite a lump.
