is time to move on....

I've had my 3.0 E89 since 2016. I picked up a cheap daily for work as I was wracking up the miles and people kept nudging it when trying to parallel park near my work. Needless to say, I went from 10k miles a year to less than 1000.

I also toy around with selling through lack of use however, whenever I open the garage, I instantly fall back in love, especially when I finally get the chance to take it out. The sound of the straight 6 with the roof down and the joy of being in that cabin make it all worth it.

It reminds me why I moved the Z4 from being my, take-for-granted daily to a fun, special event car to enjoy throughout the summer. It also stays pristine and rolls out the garage spotless.

During those mundane daily commutes, I sometimes question the purpose of it all, especially when stuck in traffic, feeling like a car is just a means to an end. Yet, the sight of a rare E89 cruising by reignites my passion, particularly if I notice the owner hasn’t taken care of theirs.

I recommend holding onto it. The E89's prices have remained steady, so it won't depreciate significantly, and it will continue to bring you immense joy. The way the kids argue over who gets to ride in it shows that it still holds a special place in the family's heart.

For rear facing that is a requirement. Forward facing is not.

Thanks, I didn't realise. Good to know. Checking up - the UK guidelines say children must remain rear facing until 15 months old buts its recommended to keep them rear-facing until they are 4.

That doesn't sound right....rear facing until 4?
My memory is vague now but I remember a rear-facing seat for only a short period.....maybe a year max?

I am trying to think of the logistics of a 3-4 year old in a rear-facing seat. Not only would they cause havoc looking only at the seat at that age (boredom) but the baby seat would need to sit a long way forward, as a 3-4 year old is quite a lump.

I have to agree my grandson is 2.5 and has been in a forward facing seat for at least 12 months - no way could he fit in a rear facing seat now, the font seat would need to be forward some distance
