Is this too good to be true????

Seen this ad but it seems mighty cheap for age and miles.

http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/bmw-z4-30i-se-fbmwsh-6-speed/1022413088#photo-content

I would take a look but it doesn't ring true.

Can't see the ad, but if it is a £4k car with a great spec then Gumtree is well known for this sort of ad - generally held to be a massive scam designed to try and elicit money for a car that isn't actually owned by the seller (I think).

Well it was a 3.0 on a 05 plate with about 50000 miles for £3899
BUT it seems to have been taken off now.
It was also advertised as London and an identicle ad for Birmingham.

Figures. After what I have seen on here I wouldn't even look on gum tree for a car.

So can someone explain why these ads are posted on gumtree ? What are they hoping to achieve ? Presumably buyer would want to come and view car at which point they would realise that car did not belong to the advertiser and there was no V5 ?

OOOH I wanted a crossfire.... but got talked out of it by several people !

Nice cars, quick, get the looks but not sporty enough for me meaning I like to be sat on the floor so to speak.
Why/how did you get talked out of getting one?

Well I purely love it for the look of it and the fact that there are not that many about, much like the zed. But husband said the back looked like dog having a dump, RAC man said it wasn't reliable, and lots of motor journos said the handling wasn't great.

Do they put these cheap ads for tasty cars on gumtree to get you there with cash in your pocket to rob you ? :driving:

Rear end is like marmite, love it or hate it, reliability just like all cars, all have their faults, mine has never missed a beat and no probs with handling.

I like the crossfire but the interior is plasticy, the performance is lacking considering the fuel consumption and various other issues I have with them compared to the z4

Good gosh. That must the first scam I've ever seen on Scamtree. Honest guv
