Is this the end?

Yes, they're a nice looking car, I test drove one about a year ago, before the facelift. I liked it, but I thought the 350 diesel a little lacklustre, no real punch (sorry sars), I guess its what I'm used to. A 335D BMW kicks your stomach in line, and I hoped the Merc might be similar but it isn't. It was the 'sport' version too with nice AMG wheels etc but that also meant the suspension was too hard for my liking. IMHO a big merc should move and be comfy. Unless its an AMG version, hardly anyone wants hard suspension so they can throw it around. If I went with it, I'd have to get the adjustable dampers. As usual in a coupe tho, not much room in the back, and its two seats back there rather than a bench, so no cheeky carrying of 3 in the back. Nice looking car tho, better still in the facelift. No appreciable issues that I'm aware of.

I have a friend here in Oz with an E250 CGI Coupe, also in sport trim. It has a turbocharged 1.8l petrol engine but you'd never know when you're driving it. It's smooth and refined and pulls strongly. It even goes round corners pretty well. 0-60 is around 7 seconds and it's limited to 155mph. Despite this, it's still good for 40mpg combined. The interior is very refind and I actually think the room in the back is reasonable, although it is definitely only a four seat car. It's a good looking car and would be a nice DD in addition to a Zed

I thought it was superb.

Back on Saturday to clinch the deal...
In that case, the answer to your question is "Yes, this is the end" :D
Congratulations

I've spent a couple of hours as a passenger in the back of an E250 CGI and, although you can barely see anything, it is quite comfortable and does seem to make reasonably rapid progress without sounding too growly. Impressive car, albeit a bit of an aunty-mobile. :poke:

Still looking for an e class.

Spotted one about 1.5 hours away, in a main dealer, with only 14000 miles, so took the afternoon off to drive down and take a look. Shocked to find a very tired example - every panel had a scratch or ding and pale leather interior was grubby. I expressed my disappointment and was politely informed that the car's condition was normal - a three year old car with light coloured leather is always going to look that way.

Then I took the dealer to have a look at my 6 year old Z4C with three times the mileage and champagne interior.

He's recommending I buy new.

Good luck looking, I love mine and the 350 Diesel is sublime, easily as fast as my old 3.0 just easier to live with.

Maniac, I dragged a 335i from the lights a few months ago, it was quicker but not by much to 50, maybe half a cars length.

had a Merc once....... rather have my balls stapled to a plank of wood.

Sorry, just my experience was not good.

i replaced my 530 with a E270CDi
