Is this spec worth it?

Hi

I looking for my first z4 and going to see the below spec this weekend, does anyone have any opinions on reliability and drive? I was initially looking for 2.0l which when i test drived felt too slow

Silver 2008 SI roadster 3.0
Automatic (with paddle gears)
50k miles FSH
Xenon headlights
M on steering wheel
8k gbp

not much to go on there but a 2008 3.0si with only 50k is a nice find.. perhaps a link to the add would help generate a better opinion of the car

Heated Msport seats - much sort after and makes the car an all year top down drive.

Add to that the MFSW and cruse control and you've got most of the options that people spend a good deal of time chasing. There was a forum poll (in the last six months or so) about average millage - this has got to be in the minority at just shy of 50K

Is that not the Si, the top spec 265bhp under the M.

Nice find, go grab it quick before some hovering shark beats u to in now you’ve given the game away

looks a great deal. I have a 2 owner 2004(smg) with 52k on the clock and would be after about 1k less if I ever sold her. Snap it up.

Thanks alot guys, i temporary deleted the car link in case of any sharks beating me to it, i was 2hrs away when i posted so had a bit of a panic!!

So i bought the car after just 5-10min of looking and took it for a test drive, Such a butiful drive when i floored it in sports mode the engine roared! Has paddle gears also which i prob wont use tbh . 0-60 in 6 sec. so glad i went for the 3.0l. Perfect condition, fsh and some of the extras i have never seen or even heard of . Will post pics when i collect next week

Thanks for the advice

One thing, the car had no aux port or usb! Is there a way to fit this? I dont know if it has bluetooth i didnt see anything or a satnav type screen? Only cd player

It has a lighter charger so i can get a cheap usb converter for that worse case

Well done - 3.0 roadster gets the  from me

I had mine about a year before I found an aux socket under the dash above the centre console - they wern't all in the ends of the ash tray. You can always use the search button (left hand tool bar) for threads about installing an aux socket.

Have a look in the boot and see if the roof motor has been moved - back left hand side it may have a patch of carpet screening it - if you have then its been relocated and your another job up on what looks a very nice drive.

It'll be faster than 6 seconds to 60.

Z4 3.0si acceleration times in miles per hour
0 - 10 mph 1.0 s
0 - 20 mph 1.9 s
0 - 30 mph 2.7 s
0 - 40 mph 3.4 s
0 - 50 mph 4.3 s
0 - 60 mph 5.6 s
0 - 70 mph 7.3 s
0 - 80 mph 9.4 s
0 - 90 mph 11.7 s
0 - 100 mph 14.4 s
0 - 110 mph 17.4 s
0 - 120 mph 20.6 s

After that you can clean it!

Is there an amp next to the battery in the boot?

We will need more pictures!

I made a bit of mistake didnt even think of opening the boot or engine, but she said the motor has been moved to the boot which i know is the preferred option. Actually reading the ad again it says “bluetooth phone prep”. Will look out for the aux when i collect

Congratulations OP - gotta love a 3.0Si!

I'm pretty sure the aux-in was standard after September 2006 build dates. Mine was built in August 06, but someone has retro-fitted one in the glovebox. :)

Good new about the roof motor being moved to the boot - you should see it in front of the nearside rear wheel-arch. Now we just need some photos.

havent had a chance to take pics but this was the car i got!

Good job - I have an Si, awesome car, so much fun.

Mine has just rolled over 40k (kilometers) and the lower mileage ones are hard to find!

Enjoy :driving:

Aux standard on 2007 model year cars.

Doesn’t mean to say that a 2008 car will have it though. Could have been sitting around for a while before being registered.

Lucky man - you've got CC fitted as well, fairly rare option  . Are you sure you don't have an aux port - did you check that panel under the aircon dials in the centre of the dash? It's easy to miss. That is a very nice looking E85 you've scored, well done.

Edit - just saw crazyharry had already spotted the cruise control - sorry

Good find OP. If you can't find an Aux socket don't worry, they are easy to retro fit with a hit that leaves the socket either in the ash tray, or flush with the underside of the centre console, just above the roof/heated seat buttons. "blue tooth prep" could have meant one of those cheap 12v bt adaptors plugged into the cigarette lighter.

You definitely don't have sat nav - the basic sat nav has a different looking looking radio/CV fascia, and the proper OEM system has a pop-up display above directly above the radio - yours doesn't have this. TBH you're not missing out; a 11 year old satnav isn't a big loss.
