Is this right? (boot spring)

Just noticed the springs on the boot hinge while cleaning my car, doesn't look right to me but thought I would check here first before I start meddling.
To me the loop end of the spring should be attached to the little sticky out bit :lol: Am I right?
Both sides are the same.

no its suposed to be like that, as mineis the same.

i think its there to assit the lift of the boot in the initial phase.

i could be wrong though...

Yep +3, as Nathahu said, the post is just a stop to lift the lid a bit when unlocked. If were used as a connector post, the spring would resist your efforts to lift the lid the rest of the way, quite undesirable.
