Is this possible on a 3.0si backbox?

Stuart make sure you do some before/after vids! is it the bypass or gutting mod Mr Pilchard did?

Will do. It's the gutting mod. I didn't see if pilchard did a thread although he sent me some pics of the boxes, Exdos did a thread and I'm assuming it's the same.

Yeah Dalecan did a thread, exdos also posted his photos of his version on the latter pages of the same thread. That's what i'm going to be doing mine based on, essentially it's a straight-through job in the oem backbox.

Very interested in this for my 3.0si.
So does the si backbox have the exact same innards as the M version?
Some vids of someone that did this on their si would be great since I assume it will sound different to the M anyway.

nope - see the pics. The one I posted is my 3.0si backbox (well actually it is a spare OE part that I purchased).... and the original thread I linked to shows the 'M' backbox innards.

Already doing it... as I am using a spare exhaust, before / after video should be easy when I do the swapover.

Sweet, nice one.
Ok so you are basically removing the pipes that go to the muffler and you're going straight to the tips from the exhaust pipes.
Any resonator in between?
Looking forward to the vids.
Subscribed :D

Dan, Was there sound packing in the Si backbox or simply pipes and chambers? Looking forward to see/hear your progress.
