Is this normal ?

The other day as I was entering a car wash I began rolling up the windows both were about half way down the drivers side went up no problem but for some unknown reason the passenger side went down even though I pulled up on the switch. Thankfully, after it went all the way down I released the switched and pulled up on it again and it went up before my Z4 became a bath tub. I did a few more tests after the wash and when the window on the pass side is completely up and I pull up on the switch it went down again. Is this something that is normal? Should I have BMW look at it? I figured I would ask other owners before going to the stealership.

Sounds like you're triggering the safety on the auto-up. Mine triggers if I shut off the switch before the window is all the way up. It's to prevent crushing things with the auto up (like little kid's heads, etc). I don't know if there is a way to decrease the sensitivity or not, but you might also have a safety switch that needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the input. My passenger window never went auto up only the drivers side and I asked the dealer about this and they told me it was not an option on a 03.

I could swear sometimes there is a little gremlin inside my car because the most random things happen.
One time the car would not start when I turned the ignition It was dead completely not a single thing happened as if the car had no power whatsoever. I took the key out and tried again and it turned right over. I also had my car beep non stop so I pulled over shut the car off restarted and it went away.
Or on another occasion I unlocked my car got it turned the key in the ignition and both doors locked.
The list goes on and on...................
