is this normal?

I've read about the windscreen wiper position problems that people have had on here and wondered whether mine was an issue?

they've always sat like this since I bought the car, so never known any different.

After a wipe, they go down then come back up a bit. I video'd the action as it's easier to show than explain:

Is anyone elses the same?

Did you put your car in a freezer? Thats proper frozen

It appears to be the same as mine gav. Only thing that made me wonder was people who said they can see the bonnet creases when driving their ///M's. I can only see the wiper arms. Maybe my seat is too low?

Haha my seat is as low as it can go. I can see the bonnet if I lean forward. M bonnet sits higher up though doesn't it?

That's what my car looked like yesterday morning, proper northern frost lol

Same here, never really thought about 'til now.

Curious what continental location and elevation does for weather. I'm at a latitude about the same as the South of France, hardly "Northern", yet we're in a nearly permanent deep freeze already. Frozen cars are nothing unusual right now here, it was -20C the other morning, never got anywhere close to 0 all day.

I've fixed so much on the car now that I thought i'd try and fix something else  someone said about some kind of gunk build up on the wiper motor.

Have you got any pictures/a how to, nova?

no sorry, i know its behind the glove box, a relay should be about £15 so a cheap fix and best to replace first before trying other more expensive routes. im sure someone on here should be able to point you in the right direction.

Slightly related, I've just started getting a problem where the wipers don't come to a rest in the proper position - they "bounce" off the bottom of the windscreen and stop a few inches up. You have to then flick the wipers another 3-4 times until they rest a little lower. Annoying!

Something like this although more exaggerated:

Any ideas?

I take it yours are stopping farther up than what this thread decided is normal? That's usually due to grease accumulating on the motor contacts. There's a How-To on here somewhere on removing the excess grease.
