Is This Normal?

I just check the inventory page at the dealer I ordered my car from and there was my car. It has a stock number, and it shows to be for sale. Is that normal? I double chcked and the VIN matches the car I ordered. I have not recieved a call from them to tell me its in, but they had time to list it for sale on the net. What gives? I understand they have to check it in and all that, but would they list it for sale in doing so? Any thoughts?

Who is your dealer?

Newbold BMW in O'Fallon IL.

After thinking about it, it is probably just standard check in procedure. I dont have the patience to ever order a car again. I am a sign and drive kind of kind. I was absent the day they handed out patience. Still, any feedback would be great.

You need to call the dealer or go there and find out for yourself. That may be a mistake, but the only way to let them know is to tell them.

I am going to call them first thing in the morning, they closed early tonight. If the car is there I am picking it up tomorrow night.

Here is my suggestion: find out which BMW CCA Chapter covers your area/dealership, then contact the Chapter President. Ask him directly what is his opinion of Newbold BMW. If you intend on servicing you Z4 there ask him for a Service Adviser referral. BMW CCA is a fantastic source of information including a consensus of opinions on dealers, repair shops, etc., even if you aren't a member. Give a try, it is after all you money...lots of it, that you are going to spend on an outstanding vehicle.

All the best,

Greg

Thanks for the suggestion, tahat sounds like a great idea. How do I go about finding that out?

I emailed the pres of the Stl chapter. I also checked on thier message boards and found nothing but good about Newbold. Thanks for the suggestion. I have got to grow some patience before I make myself crazy.

Its in!!! Niel called this morning and told me he was unloading it off the truck as we spoke. I am going after work to pick it up. Just for refence Niel told me BMW enters the stuff in when they ship, even though the car insnt even there yet. He said he gets this all the time. In about six hours I will be the proud owner. :D

Congrats! Post some pics once the silly grin wears off a little (it never fully leaves)

Its home, and you are right, this smile is never leaving my face.

We got there to get the car, it was poring rain, the guys had the car sitting on the showroom floor with a sold sign on the windshield. They gave me the treatment explaing the functions of the car, it was awesome. The two hour drive home was way too short. I will post some pics if I can figure it out.. I counldn't be happier.

Hope this works.

Hey! I used to live in O'Fallon off of Hwy50 in Country Oaks and it is a possibility that I might be moving back there soon! I've had my old 318ti serviced at Newbold before. Don't remember ever having any issues with them! :D

Congrats on your new Car!!!
