Is this normal?

HI All,

I picked up my 2007 Z4 earlier today. Noticed something a little odd though when I start the car. Not sure if its normal or not.
Keys in ignition, turn once and all lights then most go off, bar one or two on the dials. Start the car, all lights out except handbrake (so far all seems normal) then I get a beep beep beep beep. Almost like a radio security or something? Nothing else is odd, once it has beeped the multiple times it doesn’t do it again until I turn the car on next, car runs fine etc too.
Other than this which isn’t so much a problem just confused me a little the car is great, loved the drive home in it!
So is this normal? The beeping?

Thanks
Rich

Could be below freezing or seat belt. dont worry it's a zed you will learn to live with it or sink at the garage.

Its not below freezing, its around 10 C. No dash light or anything comes on. It sounds like a radio initiation (an old car i had with aftermarket head unit made a simular noise) although the Z is standard

check the engine oil, this should be done when the engine is warm,, press the button between the dials,, the one on the right and it should show if the oil is low and if you need to add any... the beep is usually accompanied by a yellow engine light on the dash... may not be the oil but no harm in checking

I have just remembered that when I viewed the car it had a parrot kit, which had a cracked screen so I asked them to remove it. The screen has been removed but I think the rest of the system is still in because if I search Bluetooth on my phone I find it.

What else comes with a parrott so I can remove the rest of the unit?

Depends on the Parrot model, but most have a blue box that will prob be stashed behind the head unit - this is the bit that has the Bluetooth module in it.

silly answer but you're not sitting with the car in reverse are you, making the parking sensors "sense" things like a fence next to the car or something?!

yes, this seriously had me wondering for the first week i owned mine! :)

It says Parrot CK3100 on my mobile. Almost certain that it's this that is beeping, as the beep noise comes over the speakers.
So have to remove the wad unit to take out the Bluetooth box? That's a rel pain!!

I took headunit out and removed the blue parrot box. Left the cables that were plugged into it loose, wasn't sure where they came from. But everything seems to work now with no beeping.

The 2 plugs I removed from the blue box, are these meant to be there from stock?

I think it may well be seat belt sensor.... - I had a little problem with my passenger seat sensore- bleepng- thinking there was someone in there.. annoying but may simply be sensor under seat !
