all, i know was already discussed previously, but i'm enjoying my new old z 2.5i 2004 reg and i'm a kind of surprised that the onboard computer is telling me that i'm running at an average of 14 MPG (uk mpg) in city ride... Was not expecting 40mpg, but 14mpg looks poor... what do you think about it? I will check the MAF, what's your average in the traffic?
 
thanks asamski, On the italian forum someone is making worry that there is something wrong with the MAF because most of the users are telling me that they get close to 30 MPG...
 
Wouldnt worry too much if you're driving around in the city on short runs and do lots of start/stop driving.

Take it for a long traffic free run and see what you get. Fill the tank before you set off, and fill it when you get back, you'll be able to calculate the real amount of fuel used for the distance travelled. If it's still under 20mpg for a long run, sounds like you have a problem.
 
Re-set the computer and keep an eye on it - city driving in bad traffic will drag the average down, but a long motorway run will gradually pull it back up. Or calculate it yourself - a lot of people on here treat the the OBC with a little scepticism. :)
