Is this Legit? Wind Deflector

Guys:

What do you think of the following deflector:

It looks like it's supposed to be the OEM one where you replace the loops and install a fixed mesh deflector.

How difficult is the job? How long does it take and does anyone have a write-up on installing yourself?

Is this a good price? $355 USD
 
Price looks way too much to me. They often turn up on Ebay (screen only) so I'd buy one of those then just get the brackets from BMW.

PM me an email and I'll email you a fitting PDF. BMW quote 2 hours to do it.
 
looks like the exact same one I have.

No idea on how hard it is to fit, but I don't think it's hard to do.
If no-one's got a write up, I'm sure I could take mine to bits and do one for you :)

not sure on US pricing, but thats rougly, what, £200? I think that's about what the dealers charge for it!
shop around on EBay, as they come up a lot, for much cheaper.
 
It is an OEM item as it is the same as the one fitted to my Z, not sure how to retrofit but someone will be long shortly to answer that side of your question :thumbsup:
 
The price from a dealer here is $536.19 or 321.95 pounds. That was the price I paid the dealer minus 10% BMW CCA discount. The labor was 1 hour. It is a superior product and stowing it under the boot lid is a plus.
 
Hi

Bit of advice for SK93 - DONT take your deflector to bits in order to produce instructions for this thread. The clips in the rollbar covers are not reuseable and have to be broken to release them. You'll end up with a pile of bits and a bill for new clips (if you can get the clips without the covers from the stealers!!)
